Kurios Stores ("Kurios", "we", "us") runs a campus marketplace where students buy and sell products, order food to be cooked to order, request errands, hire craft services, and manage a KWallet balance. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have over it, in plain language.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Kurios, we collect:
- Account details — your name, email address, phone number, university, and student ID number when you sign up.
- Profile information — a profile picture, if you choose to upload one.
- Location details — your hostel/room or delivery location, only when you place an order or request an errand that needs it.
- Store information — if you become a seller, your store name, description, category, and logo.
- Transaction data — orders placed, items bought or sold, KWallet balance and transaction history, and cashout bank account details.
- Communications — messages you send through in-app chat with sellers, errand agents, or support, and any receipts you upload for an errand agent to confirm.
- Device and usage data — basic technical information like browser type and general usage patterns, used only to keep the app working properly.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account, and verify you're a real person behind it (by email and, where applicable, phone).
- To process orders, payments, cashouts, errands, and craft requests.
- To connect you with sellers, errand agents, or craft providers you choose to transact with.
- To send order updates, OTPs, receipts, and — where you haven't opted out — reminders and promotions (including birthday gifts) by email, SMS, or in-app notification.
- To keep the platform safe — detecting fraud, resolving disputes, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
3. Who We Share Information With
We never sell your personal information. We share it only where genuinely necessary to provide the service:
- Payment processors (Paystack, Monnify, OPay) — to process payments and cashouts to your bank account. We don't store your card or bank login details ourselves.
- Image hosting (Cloudinary) — for profile pictures, product photos, store logos, and errand payment receipts you upload.
- Email and SMS providers (Resend, Termii) — to deliver verification codes, receipts, and notifications.
- Other users you transact with — a seller sees what's needed to fulfil your order (name, delivery info); an errand agent sees what's needed to complete your errand.
- Law enforcement or regulators, only where legally required.
4. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and dispute purposes. Some data is deliberately short-lived: for example, a payment receipt you upload for an errand agent is deleted once that errand's delivery is confirmed complete. Accounts left unverified for 14 days are automatically removed.
5. Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to explain how it's being used. Contact us using the details below to exercise any of these rights. Note that deleting your account is permanent and removes your order history, wallet history, and messages.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, hashed passcodes, and access controls — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a unique passcode and never share your login details with anyone.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Kurios evolves. Significant changes will be communicated in-app.

These Terms govern your use of Kurios Stores. By creating an account, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
1. Who Can Use Kurios
Kurios welcomes both students of participating universities (Student accounts) and the wider public (KUser accounts). You must provide accurate signup information — students, including a valid student ID. We may suspend accounts found to be fraudulent, duplicated, or in violation of these Terms.
2. Account Types
- Student accounts — for students of participating universities, browsing, buying, requesting errands, and hiring craft services.
- KUser accounts — for the wider public, with the same access to browsing, buying, requesting errands, and hiring craft services, minus anything specific to student verification.
- Seller accounts — approved stores, subject to an application review and, where applicable, an application fee.
- Errand agents and craft providers — Student or KUser accounts who've opted in to fulfil errands or craft requests from others.
- Staff accounts — team members a store owner invites to help run their store, with permissions the owner controls. Staff accounts are independent logins and never have access to a store's cashout or earnings withdrawal.
3. KWallet
KWallet is an in-app balance you can fund and spend within Kurios — on orders, cook-to-order meals, errand fees, and more. Wallet balances are not interest-bearing and can be withdrawn to a linked bank account, subject to our cashout process and any applicable processing time. Reward points and tier discounts are promotional and may be changed or discontinued at our discretion, with notice where reasonably possible.
4. Marketplace Nature
Kurios provides the platform connecting students, sellers, errand agents, and craft providers — we are not the seller of record for products listed by independent sellers, nor the provider of independently offered craft services. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the quality and safety of what they sell, and complying with all applicable laws (including food safety, for any food prepared through cook-to-order).
5. Errands and Deliveries
Errand agents are independent students, not Kurios employees. Kurios facilitates the connection, payment, and delivery confirmation (via a one-time delivery code), but is not responsible for an agent's individual conduct beyond what's reasonably within our control as a platform. Where an item cost is paid directly to a merchant rather than through the app, the student is responsible for uploading proof of that payment for the agent to confirm.
6. Fees and Commissions
Kurios charges a commission on sales and completed errands/craft jobs, and may charge a flat delivery fee for errand-based delivery. Current rates are set from time to time and are not retroactive to already-completed transactions.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- List or request anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or that violates university policy.
- Attempt to defraud another user, Kurios, or a payment processor.
- Open more than one account, or use another person's phone number or identity to do so.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse another user, including through in-app chat.
- Attempt to bypass, exploit, or interfere with the platform's normal operation.
Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent account deletion, at our discretion.
8. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or delete an account that violates these Terms, is inactive and unverified past 14 days, or as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your own account at any time by contacting support.
9. Limitation of Liability
Kurios is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including losses arising from another user's conduct. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Refund Policy

We want every order on Kurios to go smoothly. Here's how refunds work when something doesn't.
1. Eligible for a Refund
- An order that was paid for but never fulfilled or delivered by the seller.
- An item that arrives significantly different from what was listed, damaged, or incorrect.
- A cook-to-order meal that was paid for but the seller cancels before starting preparation.
- An errand fee, if no agent accepts the errand and it expires unassigned, or the errand is cancelled before an agent starts work.
- A duplicate or accidental charge caused by a technical error.
2. Not Eligible for a Refund
- A cook-to-order meal or perishable item once preparation has started or the item has been picked up/delivered, except where it arrived clearly wrong or unsafe.
- Change of mind after an order has been accepted and is being prepared or fulfilled by the seller.
- An errand fee once an agent has accepted and begun the errand, except where the agent fails to complete it through no fault of the student.
- Item costs already paid directly to a merchant outside the app (the student should resolve this directly with the merchant, or contact support if the agent has an unresolved role in the dispute).
3. How to Request a Refund
Contact us at elkurios@kuriosstores.com within 48 hours of the issue, with your order ID and a brief description of what went wrong. We'll review the order and respond within 3 business days.
4. How Refunds Are Paid
Approved refunds are credited to your KWallet by default, available immediately for use on the platform. Where a KWallet credit isn't suitable (for example, you're closing your account), we'll refund to your original payment method where technically possible, which may take longer depending on the payment processor.
5. Seller and Agent Responsibility
Where a refund is due to a seller's or agent's error, the corresponding amount is deducted from what they would otherwise have earned from that transaction, rather than absorbed silently by the platform — this keeps the process fair for everyone involved.
6. Disputes
If you disagree with a refund decision, you can ask for it to be reviewed by a different member of our support team by replying to our response. We aim to resolve every dispute fairly and promptly.

Anyone can sign up. Kurios Stores is built especially for students, sellers, service providers, and young people looking for ways to earn on and around campus.
How do I sign up?
Tap Get Started, create your account with your details, and follow the on-screen steps to verify it. If a friend or BDO invited you, use their referral link so they get credit for bringing you on board.
Can I use Kurios Stores on my phone?
Yes. Kurios Stores is designed mobile-first and works in the browser on both Android and iPhone. You can also add it to your home screen for quick, app-like access, and we're continuing to expand the mobile experience.

Yes. Depending on what's available to you, you can earn by selling products, offering services, running errands for other students, or taking part in other earning opportunities on the platform.

A BDO (Business Development Officer) helps Kurios Stores grow by introducing the platform to students, sellers, businesses, and new users.
How do I become a BDO?

Can students become BDOs?
Yes. Students interested in business development and earning opportunities are welcome to apply, subject to the applicable requirements.
